April 11-13, 2011 Flooding – On April 12, 2011, Harrison County reacted to a flooding event, anticipating a crest of 22.5 feet, from rains that began to fall the night prior. As of 8:30am, April 13, 2011, the South Fork of the Licking River in Cynthiana was at 21.71ft. The National Weather Service believes that the river has reached its peak height for the event, with fluctuations within a few tenths of an inch expected.

April 22-24, 2011 Flooding – On April 21, 2011, Harrison County and many other counties in the Commonwealth were placed under a Flood Watch for Friday through Saturday in anticipation of a large amount of rain from a stalled warm front. On the following evening numerous other advisories and statements were issued by the National Weather Service in relation to this frontal system, including tornado watches and warnings and flash flood warnings.
